Dildo is an interactive + multimedia solo show about Ophelia, a queer sex worker and nanny who was separated from their sex working mother as a child. In the hope of reconnecting with lost pieces of their past, Ophelia goes on a quest to find out more about where they came from and uncovers long-hidden stories - Particularly a lost 1970s pornographic film created by the non-binary sex working trailblazer “B” Faldmo. Mixing reality with fiction, Dildo is a heartfelt exploration of queerness, sex, work, and family, which shows the everyday lives of a stigmatised community. Adapted from Abrah Ophelia Katzman's short film This Film Is A Dildo, we believe this project will offer an underrepresented community a chance to see themselves depicted with real humanity, and to participate in it's creation.
